Tuesday and today were good days! The sun was shining and its been warm. I went for walks (4 kms yesterday and 3kms today). It feels good to have that sun shining in my face!
Its getting closer and closer to my surgery. Next Monday will come quick. I read over all the instructions given to me by the hospital for pre and post-op things to prepare and know. My last open heart surgery was 21 years ago. I remember but, there are some things that I forget. This was a good refresher.
Best drugs ever!
One good thing about this type of major surgery is indeed the amazing drugs they give you for pain. Its an absolutle need, because the pain is definately intense at times. But the drugs are good and free! Its a great reminder and indicator of how and why people get addicted to opioids. Its a happy/ comfortably numb feeling to be under the effefts of that type of drug. Although I have never had an addiction problem, I can 100% understand what addicts are seeking, everytime they use these types of drugs. For me, having access to these drugs for a short period of time is a small upside to the pain, the anxiety and the discomfort brought on by such an intrusive intervention.
Other than that, I’ve been spending time with my son and my daughter and my mom this week.
